We carry both brand-new instruments and high-quality pre-owned ones. Every pre-owned item is thoroughly inspected, verified and set up by our on-site technician to ensure top performance.

We don’t offer music lessons; however, we have a database of experienced local music teachers and schools who teach a range of instruments and skill levels. Contact us to find out more and we will try to connect you with the most appropriate teacher.

Pricing and Payment

All prices listed on our website are in Australian dollars (AUD).
Yes, all prices are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.
We accept credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Zip and bank transfers. For in-store purchases, cash is also accepted.
If an error in pricing occurs, we reserve the right to correct it and will notify you promptly.

Laybuy

Customer is presented with a dropdown to select the down-payment they want to pay. A minimum of 10% is required.
No ongoing costs - only a once-off admin fee. Admin fee amount depends on order value.
No interest charges ever.
No late fees ever.
Customer receives their goods after their final payment.
Lay-buy instalment payments are auto-paid from your linked card in your PayPal setup.
Customer to ensure there is always funds available.
No - all Lay-buy payments are automated via a recurring profile in your PayPal setup.
Yes—please contact store to revise payment plan.
PayPal will then auto attempt again in 5 days, two more times.
Yes, PayPal send an email notification to both parties.
Seller will invoice customer for missed payment.
You can login to your PayPal account – go to Settings > Payments > Pre-Approved Payments.

Shipping and Delivery

Yes, we provide shipping across Australia. Delivery fees and times depend on your location and the size of the order.
Once your order has been shipped, we’ll send you a tracking number so you can follow your delivery’s progress.
Shipping costs are calculated during checkout based on weight, dimensions and destination of the items in the order. Payment for shipping will be collected with the purchase. This price will be the final price for shipping cost to the customer.
In most instances we are unable to offer delivery to PO Boxes unless the item is small enough to send in a Australia Post satchel or Australia Post box.
For change of delivery address requests, we are able to change the address at any time before the order has been dispatched. Please send us an email to hello@musicspecialists.com.au with your order number and the correct/new delivery address. Additional shipping charges may apply if the correct/new address varies greatly from the original address inputted at the time of the order.
Orders are usually dispatched within 2 to 5 business days of payment of order. If there are any additional delays to processing your order, we will contact you to discuss.

In general, domestic shipments are in transit for 2 - 7 days - Be advised these times may exceed 7 days due to public holidays.

Please note at times there may be some delays with freight and postage services once the order has been dispatched from our store or warehouse. These delays are out of the control of Music Specialists.

If you find a parcel is damaged in-transit, if possible, please reject the parcel from the courier and get in touch with our store via email at sales@musicspecialists.com.au. If the parcel has been delivered without you being present, please contact us at sales@musicspecialists.com.au and include images of the damaged packaging and/or damaged items.

Warranties

Yes, all our instruments come with a warranty. The duration and coverage depend on the manufacturer and product type. In addition to manufacturer warranties & store warranties, customers are covered under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), all customers are entitled to certain guarantees when they buy goods or services.

  • Are of acceptable quality.
  • Match the description, sample, or demonstration model.
  • Are fit for their intended purpose.
  • Come with clear title and no hidden debts or charges.
  • Have spare parts and repair facilities available for a reasonable time after purchase.
Product availability is subject to change. If an item is out of stock, feel free to contact us for updates or alternatives.
If a product you’ve purchased is faulty, you have the right to a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the severity of the issue. If there is an issue with a product you have purchased that is under warranty, reach out to us and we will manage the warranty process for you. We try to make this process as easy as possible and resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

You are entitled to a refund or return or exchange or credit if the goods that you have purchased are:

  • Faulty
  • Differ significantly from the goods advertised
  • Do not do what they are reasonably expected to do.

We do not generally offer refunds because you have changed your mind. This will be at the discretion of Music Specialists and will be assessed on a case-by-case scenario. Any associated fees attached to the purchase will be deducted from the refund amount.

The following items are non-refundable:

  • Sheet music, CDs, DVDs, and books cannot be returned due to copyright restrictions.
  • Consumables such as strings, leads, picks, etc.
  • Recorders, microphones, headphones, reeds, harmonicas, and mouthpieces cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons.

Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

Privacy

At Music Specialists, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers. We collect personal information only for the purpose of processing orders, providing excellent customer service and offering personalised recommendations. Your data is securely stored and will only be shared with third parties for the purpose of fulfilling your order (freight companies, distributors where required for product fulfilment). Music Specialists will not share your information to any other third party without your consent, unless required by law. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1998, ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly.
